About Import Path

Import Path helps you pick a Go library: every project from the Awesome Go list, grouped by what you're building, ranked by GitHub stars, and shown with the facts you check before adding a dependency.

The list itself is avelino/awesome-go, maintained on GitHub by its community and published under the MIT license. Import Path is independent and not affiliated with Awesome Go, its maintainers or the Go project. To add or correct a project, open a pull request on the list; changes appear here within a few hours.

What each entry shows

  • GitHub stars and activityStars, the latest release and the date of the last commit come from GitHub for every listed repository, refreshed daily. A coloured dot shows activity: green for a commit in the last three months, amber within a year, grey after that.
  • Import pathRead from the module line of the repository's go.mod on its default branch. Projects without a go.mod, or whose module path isn't importable, show no path.
  • Minimum Go versionThe go directive in the same go.mod: the oldest toolchain the module says it supports.
  • DependenciesDirect requirements in go.mod, not counting indirect ones. No dependencies means the module builds on the standard library alone.

The stack picker

The homepage picker suggests libraries for common kinds of Go projects. Each layer's shortlist, and the default pick at its head, is our choice of widely used, maintained options; their stars, Go versions and dependency counts are live. Every layer links to its full category, where you can sort and filter all the alternatives.
